The "Lion Heart Soul" was inspired by the classic album from Carlos Santana appropriately titled "Santana". In my humble opinion, Santana's Spanish rhythms and leads, warm soulful sound along with great vibrato and sustain is so beautiful it makes me want to cry tears of joy and gives me chills every time I hear him play..

Pigpen was an early, short lived but, extremely influential member of The Grateful Dead at the time. He brought a blues sound and harmony that grounded the band in their embryonic years.
